Introduction

✏️Course in Development

Just a heads-up—this section is still a work in progress! I’ll be revising and expanding it soon to make sure it’s as useful as possible. Curious about what’s already done or currently in the works? Check the changelog for updates.

You've meticulously built your hydraulic model, inputting all the data you could find on pipes, pumps, and demands. But how well does this digital creation actually mirror what's happening in your real-world water distribution system? That's where model calibration comes in.

This section introduces calibration as the crucial, systematic process of fine-tuning your model's parameters until its outputs — like pressures and flows — closely match actual field measurements. We'll emphasize that without this step, even the most detailed model is still largely a theoretical representation; calibration is what transforms it into a reliable, trusted predictive tool.
